We have been to this restaurant a few times, mostly during the off pike time of the year. The prices were reasonable and the food was excellent. We just retired and moved from Connecticut to live in Boca Raton, Fl. We were there tonight. We expect the pricing to be much higher then off season which it was. However, I don't like to be ripped off, period. We arrived for our 8:00PM reservation. We waited outside at a table for 20 minutes to get seated in side the restaurant. As we waited we were asked if we would like a drink. We both ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio wine while we were waiting. The waiter recommended Santa Margarita wine. We finally got seated. The food we ordered was excellent. The bill came and we were charged $17.00 per glass of wine, for Santa Margarita? That is a rip-off and is simply taking advantage of the customer. The restaurant owners are thieves if this is what they do to take advantage of higher net worth clients. As a result we will never go back to this restaurant in spite of the great food. If you are a customer and don't mind being ripped off, please continue to go back. NOT ME! TONY RINALDI

The paucity of reviews for this beautiful restaurant seems strange. It's location means I really can't become a regular here, but if I lived in Boca Raton rather than Fort Lauderdale, I'm certain I'd return here from time to time for an excellent meal in an elegant setting. My party of four came for lunch. Peeking in the window as we approached the front door, and eyeing the haute decor through the windows, I had brief thoughts that my shorts and sandals outfit would be a bar to my entry. But no problem. I guess my money was going to be just as good as the guy's in the slacks and shoes. Not every restaurant, however haute, serves great bread. KGC serves great bread wrapped in linen, nestled in a basket. Slightly warm, perfectly crusty on the outside, soft and chewy inside, with available butter that was eminently spreadable. Great start. I had a perfectly cooked, tender and tasty piece of salmon atop a flavorful Caesar's salad. I asked to have the Caesar chopped in the kitchen, which they did. Of course, I didn't expect our personable server extraordinaire, Martini, to respond to my request by letting me know that KGC will not chop a Caesar's salad, but I do assume not many diners anywhere request that their Caesar be chopped. On the other hand, Martini was so darned outgoing and appropriately humorous, as I think back on it, it would not have surprised if he had initially said no to the request, just as a tease. He did, after all, serve my three dining companions first, and then inquired as to what I would be doing for lunch - all the while keeping my own plate hidden from view as he checked out my reaction before seeing the impish grin on his visage. I also tasted my friend's mahi mahi, which was so good, I fantasized going back in time so that I could have ordered it rather than the salmon. The mahi mahi was tender, juicy, flavorful, delicate - there are only positive adjectives I can come up with in remembrance of the dish. I couldn't taste the very attractively presented salads which both of the ladies ordered, as I have a significant allergy to pineapple. The salads were served inside a pineapple shell, and I didn't think they could possibly be good enough to warrant a trip to the ER. However, I accept the report by both ladies that the salads were excellent. I noted the strangely small number of reviews for KGC at the start of my review. In fact, mine will be only the 6th one, and the recent review before mine, posted less than 2 weeks ago, gave it only a single star. Nonetheless, the important takeaway from that review, for anyone making it to the end, is that the reviewer thought KGC served "great food". The extreme downgrade seems to be based solely on the patron's anger over the price of the wine. I don't have a problem with that - it's social media, after all, and registered users can award any number of stars for any reason whatsoever, and that's just fine. I'm just saying I'm pleased that my own view of the great food was supported even by a recent one star reviewer. Unfortunately for the restaurant, of course, is that the small overall number of reviews gives a single angry review quite a bit of weight in the overall star average for the restaurant, and that really is too bad in the case of a restaurant as good as this one. Remember to check your wine prices before you order, and I'm guessing you will enjoy your time and culinary experience here quite a bit. And be sure to ask for Martini. Not the drink, the server.

So we decided to try this place out when we needed a break from our real estate agents office. It was right across the street, and looked charming and casual for lunch. Well, not really casual. Kinda fancy actually. We were welcomed by a Matre Di who immediately escorted us to a table otherwise I may have reconsidered. I was wearing cut off shorts and a tank top, and my boyfriend was wearing a tee shirt with Kermit the Frog on it. He sat us at the first table closest to the door....maybe because we were dressed this way??? When I looked around for a minute I thought maybe I stumbled into a retirement community country club. Old ladies with Louis Vuitton, some with faces that didn't move (plastic surgery), flashy diamonds, visors, and sun glasses on because that's how cool they were. OK so you get the picture. I was thankful when I did indeed see another couple who looked close to our age...I think they felt the same way. Not to hate on the elderly but it was a strange feeling. The service was very pleasant except for the Eastern Euro guy who was an ass, but I didn't let it ruin my lunch. I ordered the Lake Michigan Perch. It was a good test because being native Michigander I know what good Perch tastes like. I don't remember what my boyfriend ordered so I won't get into that. All I know is that he was delightfully impressed. My perch was EXCELLENT! In fact some of the best I have ever had. It was accompanied by a buttery sauce, two baby carrots, a tiny potato, and string beans. So the portions were kinda small but I am American and small in my sense is really just poor eating habits. Although we were tempted to order a dessert I held back because I am TRYING to eat better. I did order coffee though. I thought I would just get a cup but instead I got a little kettle which came out to be more like 3 cups. The coffee was very good my Starbucks addiction thanks you. As we were walking out the door two men thanked us both for coming in, one appeared to be a manager. Tasteful. Overall, a really great place. Floridians would probably call it "super expensive" but because I was moving here from New York City $50.00 for 2 was nothing. Would I come back? Probably under different circumstances.

I can't believe I have lived one mile away from this restaurant for ten years and Saturday 02/13/2010 was my first visit. A few of my neighbors told me Gazebo was their favorite restaurant in Florida. But because I knew dinner would be 5 $ signs, I waited for a special occasion. My girl friend and I celebrated Valentines Day one day early and I made a reservation at Kathy's Gazebo Cafe in the hope a great finish to a great day. They did not disappoint. Appetizers, Entrees, Desserts, and even the coffee was terrific. Service was flawless. I am now a convert. Quality has prevailed over Quantity. I may have to cut back on going out every night, but the staff at Kathy's Gazebo may soon recognize my voice when I call for reservations.

So I arrived early evening Tuesday for dinner to celebrate my moms 50th birthday with my family. Not to worry as it is still off-season in Boca Raton and the place appeared to be a little empty. First impressions were good as Claudio the Matre Di" greeted us right away with an endearing smile. Good start. I cant say so much for the decor of the establishment as for a moment my first steps re-minded me of the ball room in the movie "The Shining" staring Jack Nicholson so I was looking for Loyd the bartender. Couldn't find him. Next we were seated by the crew at our old school looking table and Stephan our waiter greeted us. Next he offered us a beverage and explained the specials thoroughly. Naturally, I asked a couple of tough questions about the specials to see what kind of waiter we were dealing with, and Stephan did not disappoint. Very professional and Friendly. He knew his product well. There was a special menu on the table for a 3 course meal for only 35 dollars that included an appetizer, dinner and dessert. So I took the bait. I started with a Caesar salad. Gotta be honest with you, I wasn't that impressed. Way to much dressing and WAY to much Parmesan cheese. Also I think that the restaurant should make it policy to bring fresh black pepper anytime a salad is brought to a table. Not a big deal, but sorry, strike 1. My sister ordered the Oysters, which were fresh. So if you like oysters, its a go. The birthday girl had the Seafood crepe, which she enjoyed, but I tasted it, and thought it was just fair. Shortly after our en tree's arrived. 2 people at the table ordered the Sole Amadine' . The food runner showed it to us, but then brought it over to Stephan who was in a side station about 30 feet away where he prepared the fish. Hello! What's the point? If your not preparing it in front of the guest, just do it in the kitchen. It's like going on a date and not getting a kiss. Just a tease. However, I tasted that Sole and it was the best thing I put in my mouth all night. Great! If you go, I definitely recommend it. My mom ordered the trout. Fresh? Yes. Taste Good? Yes. But just 2nd tier to that Sole. I ordered the Beef wellington. What can i say. Ugghh. Nothing to right home about and very small. (What do you expect from a 3 course meal for 30 dollars?) Now this brings me to my main issue with Kathy's Gazebo. Naturally being an ex-military man, I tend to eat a little quicker than most. So when i was finished, i placed my plate to my right of my setting to indicate I was done with my meal. Several times the bus staff and waiter walked by waiting for the rest of the table to finish up. I know that in Europe it is customary to clear only when the whole table is done. but this aint Europe. I being a restaurant man know that it isn't proper to not give the guest what they want when its as simple as clearing a plate. if the guest pushes his plate aside or throws a napkin on it, it is usually a sign that they are done and want it out of there face. This kind of mentality of clearing it at one time, is the mentality of Restaurant stuck in 1980. Kathy's Gazebo needs a little fresh young blood in there to complement its top of the line professionalism. It was a base hit for sure, but not a Home-run. Oh yeah. dessert was divine as we had Creme brule and Chocolate Mouse. the staff brought my mom a cream puff with strawberries, and an Americano that was hot and fresh. We will go there again especially to see Stephan. But i hope that Kathy's Gazebo will make these small minor changes so that it could knock one right outta the park. I give the service a 9, and the food a 6 for a solid 7.5...

Love this restaurant. Have been twice for lunch and twice for dinner. Every item my friends and I have had has been perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The staff has been personable, professional and attentive. We usually stay for several hours for dining and conversation and have never felt rushed to turn the table. Highly recommend.

If you really want to impress someone this restaurant has to be tops on your list- from the complimentary valet to the amazing food and knowledgeable staff . Before you leave you are already looking forward to your next dining experience with them. Owner Claudio is as friendly and accommodating as they come. You can go there on a random weekend night or for a special occasion. I went there this past Mother's Day (my wife's first one so I wanted to make it extra special). The restaurant exceeded all expectations. Some of the prices may be higher than your average restaurant but the amazing food and service more than justify them. For starters you have to try the crab meat, soft-shell crab (when in season) or escargot. They also have a delicious (Gazebo) salad. For an entree everything is amazing, but my two favorites are the Rack of Lamb and the Dover Sole. My wife had the salmon and absolutely loved it. There is also an extensive wine list so come thirsty. Or if you prefer you can bring your own favorite bottle and pay the modest corkage fee. Don't leave without trying one of their amazing homemade desserts, which change daily. You will not be disappointed.

This restaurant easily compares to a top notch restaurant in New York ,London or Paris. The wait staff are all older professionals. The décor is stuning. The bread is great. The escargot were like none other. The dover sole was the best seafood of any kind that we ever tasted. The fellow patrons were like none other in Boca. An older elegant extremely well dressed crowd. Your shorts and T shirt ensamble will certainly not work here. The reason that there are so few yelp reviews is that its clientle are not likely to yelp. Expensive, yes. But well worth it.

I went here for my birthday with a group of friends. My husband and I had been to this place many years ago and remembered that the food was quite good and it didn't disappoint on this trip. Before talking about the dinner, let me say that the service was superb. The servers were always there just at the right time, but were very unobtrusive. No one told the restaurant that it was my birthday. The wait staff must have noticed that everyone was toasting and saying "happy birthday". At the end of the meal, they came out with a marvelous strawberry shortcake napoleon with a candle on it! They were an extremely well-trained staff and provided the kind of service that you seldom see anymore. Now, for the food: We all had the $35 fixed-price summer menu. Everything was excellent. I had the Dover sole and one of my friends had the salmon. We both declared these dishes the best Dover Sole and salmon we every had. Two slight "misses": The escargot was good, but I didn't like the presentation. This is just a picky personal preference. The creme brulee seemed a little too custardy. I prefer a more creamy creme brulee. Again, these were very minor. We had a marvelous evening. The clientele is a little older, but the place is not "stuffy". The staff is friendly and very welcoming. Go if you want to have a special evening.
